This movement occurred despite new data on December’s inflation rates, which suggested a higher-than-anticipated increase. This latest inflation update raises intriguing questions regarding the Federal Reserve’s strategy on interest rates, according to a report by Traders on Trend.<\/p>\n

The S&P 500 index (^GSPC) saw a modest increase of approximately 0.2%. This uptick comes after the index achieved its highest closing value since January 2022 on Wednesday, almost breaking its own record. In the cryptocurrency sector, stocks received a significant boost following the SEC’s decision to authorize US spot bitcoin ETFs to commence trading on Thursday. This development is viewed as a significant milestone for the industry. Companies like Coinbase (COIN) and Marathon Digital (MARA), which are involved in cryptocurrency exchanges and mining, respectively, saw their shares rise in premarket trading.<\/p>\n
